Jolanda De Villiers Morkel
STADIO Higher Education

Jolanda Morkel is the Head of Instructional Design at STADIO Higher Education in South Africa. Her dedication to the design of authentic and inclusive blended and flexible learning experiences and spaces is informed by design pedagogy research, extensive studio-based teaching, and her grounding in professional architectural practice.

Dr Liz Brogden
The University of Queensland

Dr. Liz Brogden is a Lecturer in Transdisciplinary Design at the Queensland University of Technology. After 5 years in architectural practice, Liz moved into academia in 2014. She takes a determinedly optimistic approach to teaching and research that focuses on disaster resilience and climate action through architecture and design.

Dr Leigh-Anne Hepburn
The University of Sydney

Leigh-Anne is a designer and researcher based at The University of Sydney. Through participatory design and creative engagement, Leigh-Anne seeks to better understand and value diverse lived experiences to inform and influence meaningful change. She has worked extensively with vulnerable, diverse and remote communities and with policy makers to co-design new models of resilience and transdisciplinary collaboration.

Desmond Bernie
icecream architecture

Desmond is a designer and project manager who believes in people; working to build community ownership and empowerment throughout a design process. He places emphasis on understanding priorities and need in order to create sustainable solutions. Desmond set up icecream architecture in 2009 and has managed community focused projects that span design, research, engagement, regeneration, enterprise, service innovation and digital engagement.

Dr Alan Forster
Heriot Watt University

Dr Alan Forster is an Associate Professor in Building Conservation, Low Carbon Materials & Design, & Architectural Technology at Heriot-Watt University. Before entering academia, he worked in industry for 10 years and this formative experience fostered a deep interest in construction & engineering pedagogy.

Dr Megan Boston
The University of Waikato

Dr Megan Boston is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Waikato. She is a structural engineer with an interest in improving disaster resilience of communities through functional recovery of critical infrastructure. Her research works on integrating human, organisational, and cultural needs with physical damages to the built environment to improve a community’s ability to survive and thrive.

Dr Taibat Lawanson
University of Lagos

Taibat Lawanson is a Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Her research over the last twenty years focuses on the interface of social complexities, urban realities and the pursuit of spatial justice. She is well known for her inter-sectoral work which engages students, policy makers, local communities and civil society actors.

Dr Laurent Galbrun
Heriot Watt University

Dr Laurent Galbrun is an Assistant Professor in Acoustics at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (UK). His expertise covers the fields of building acoustics, environmental noise and soundscapes. An engineer, he is experienced in theoretical modelling, experimental work and statistical analysis of surveys.
